4 Towns 2 Finals 1 Radio Station

On April 19th Somer Valley FM’s Finals Day coverage will bring listeners two finals, across two different sports, covering four towns, broadcast by one award winning community radio station.

From 7pm Somer Valley FM will broadcast live match coverage of both the Bath Combination Rugby Final and the Roger Stone Football Final, featuring local teams Midsomer Norton Rugby Club and Radstock Town Football Club’s Under 18 side.

Midsomer Norton travel to the Rec for the first time in 2 years where they meet Chippenham in the Final of the Bath Combination Cup. Midsomer Norton have narrowed the gap on their Wiltshire rivals in recent years, now playing at the equivalent level in the league pyramid. However, Chippenham will go into the game as favourites, with Norton looking to avenge last year's defeat to their final opponents, in last year's Combination Cup competition.

Radstock Town find themselves in the final of the Roger Stone Memorial Cup for the second consecutive year, having narrowly lost out to Yate Town, by four goals to three, in last year's competition. Having won promotion last season, both Radstock and Clevedon Town compete in the Premier Division of the Somerset Floodlight Youth League and the Young Miners will be looking to put the disappointment of last season's Cup Final defeat behind them, drawing on the inspiration from their historic achievements in this year's FA Youth Cup.

With the football starting at 7.45pm and the rugby scheduled to begin around 8pm, Somer Valley FM’s coverage will start at 7pm, with pre-match build up coming from the Rec and The Woodspring Stadium, hosted by Dom Chambers. Your Finals Day commentary and production teams include Allan Trinder, Alex Davis, Martin Blackmore, Ian Nockolds, Evan Dando and Luke Barnes.

Full match commentary of the Bath Combination Cup will be carried, live, on 97.5 FM, with the Roger Stone Cup broadcast online, with further information available on www.somervalleyfm.co.uk.
