Radstock Town made it four wins from their last four league matches, when they defeated Wincanton Town by four goals to two at Southfields Recreation Ground on Tuesday, November 4th. Wincanton started the night on top of the Western League First Division, but came up against a resurgent Miners side that more than matched them for tenacity and endeavor.

An early goal from Danny Carter gave Radstock the upper hand and the home side saw their lead doubled midway through the first half by a spectacular long range effort from Ady Harvey.

Wincanton came back into the game in the second half, maintaining long periods of pressure around the Radstock goal. The Miners luck finally ran out midway through the second half when Jamie Jordan got the visitors on the score sheet following a succession of corners. Wincanton continued to press for the equaliser but  were kept at bay by the goalkeeping heroics of Ashley Maw.

For all their attacking intent, Wincanton's commitment to going forward left them exposed at the back. Danny Carter had a golden chance for his second goal of the night, only to see his breakaway effort cleared of the line. With less than five minutes remaining Mike Hardyman went one on one with John Hill in the Wincanton goal to restore Radstock two goal advantage and within seconds Jack Metcalf scored Radstock's fourth of the night, securing all three points for the home side. Wincanton did score again, with virtually the last kick of the game, but even that late consolation goal wasn't enough to dampen the spirits of the Miners fans, who've now seen their side score 21 goals in their last four league matches.
